01Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the terms below have the following meaning whenever capitalized:
- Renderly
- the platform, the website, and the document generation API, as well as the legal entity that operates the service.
- Service
- the set of features made available by Renderly, including the template editor, the render API (HTML → PDF), the dashboard, and document integrity verification.
- User / You
- the individual who creates and uses an account, acting on their own behalf or on behalf of an Organization.
- Organization
- the entity (tenant) to which one or more accounts belong; it owns the Templates and billing data, isolated from other Organizations.
- Account
- the set of credentials (name, email, and password) that identifies a User within an Organization.
- Template
- the content (HTML, structure, and variables) that the User creates and stores in the Service to generate documents.
- Payload
- the data (the "data") sent in each render call to populate a Template.
- Document
- the PDF file generated from a Template and a Payload.
- API Key
- the secret credential used to authenticate API calls.
- Customer Content
- collectively, the Templates, Payloads, and Documents associated with an Organization.
